Process:

It is important to give the students examples of the various units in the economy. How the family, a business, and the government act are all different; however they do have one thing in common -- they all act in their own self-interest. We need to study economics to look at how they use their resources, in their own self-interest, to satisfy their wants and needs.

Print out the lesson and either let students read it themselves, or use the lesson for teaching a basic introduction lesson on economics. Concepts introduced include scarcity, wants, needs, goods, services, labor, capital, business, and government.
