Teaching Objectives:

  • Students will generate a list of classroom jobs and attach a salary to each.
  • Students will write a job description for at least one job.
  • Students will fill out a job application and provide references.
  • Students will interview for at least one job.
  • Students will be hired for at least one job.

Suggested Grades:

Activity:

1.  Generate a list of jobs by conducting a brainstorming session with the students.  On the overhead, on the board, or on a computer with class-sized monitor, list the students’ job suggestions.  Discuss the responsibilities that would be associated with each job.
